What is the PTO?
Weiss Elementary PTO is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We answer the question, “What can we do to help right now?” This is the fundamental role of the PTO. We are a group of parents and teachers who work together for the common welfare of our students at Weiss. The PTO aims to support the staff in their mission to further the educational, emotional, social, and physical health of all children who enter the halls. We advocate for the equitable needs of the students and teachers. Through these shared ideals, we work together to foster a community where students thrive, achieve, and succeed as conscientious and responsible citizens today and in the future.
What does the PTO do?
We provide growth and development opportunities for our Wildcats by sponsoring and hosting educational programs, assemblies, events, and activities directed toward parents, teachers, and the general public. These engaging, family-focused events occur inside and outside school hours to bridge school and home environments. This helps our students secure a strong foundation in the community.
The PTO at Weiss serves a unique purpose in supporting a STEM school. Through fundraising, we assist the Weiss administration wherever possible in obtaining the opportunities and resources needed to educate our students in areas of focus within science, technology, engineering, and math. We understand and promote the role of arts, language and humanities in furthering STEM initiatives and providing a balanced educational program.
